Join the Institute’s English language theater group “HUbbub” in rehearsing and performing Jane Austen’s “Emma” in a modern Edinburgh Fringe Festival version by Doon MacKichan and Martin Millar. Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, attempts matchmaking among her friends, with disastrous and amusing results. Jane Austen narrates the story for her teenage nieces, who act as a comic Greek chorus throughout the play. The play is modern and entertaining, while remaining true to the spirit of the original.
