Introduction to Literary Studies: Seminar in Text Analysis / Seminar zur Textanalyse - Detailseite

The seminar offers students the opportunity to develop skills in literary analysis and interpretation through the exploration of exemplary texts from various genres. It is closely aligned with the concepts covered in the lecture “Introduction to Literary Studies,” and allows students to actively and independently engage with the theories and models introduced in the lecture. By examining a diverse range of examples, students develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, the seminar will provide guidance on methods and techniques of academic skills, addressing topics such as effective presentation skills, research strategies, handling scholarly resources, and more.

To complete Module 2, students are required to enrol in one of the "Text Analysis" seminars and the lecture “Introduction to Literary Studies.” All students are free to choose between seminars with an English- or an American-Studies focus, irrespective of their degree program.

Generally, all seminars will be conducted in person and in English. Any potential changes to the seminar format will be communicated in advance by the seminar instructors. Detailed information regarding the specific requirements for each seminar will be provided by the respective instructors, as well.
