The aim of the module is to learn and apply advanced methods of Geoinformation Science (QGIS, ArcGIS, data-driven techniques....) for urban transformation research. The module builds on basic knowledge of earlier courses (MSc Geography: Quantitative methods and MA Geography: Advanced Geoinformation Science or comparable introductory courses for other study programmes). You will learn and apply qualitative and quantitative spatial techniques in the context of ongoing interdisciplinary research projects of the Geoinformation Science Lab (KliBup (BMBF) and TransformMobility (BUA)). Topics will for example be fair urban mobility, urban health, co-benefits of climate adaptive planning. In this research-focused course, we plan to collaborate and interact with other researchers from different disciplines and stakeholders in the Berlin area.
The final project work will be a group work (resulting in an article). |
