The aim of this course is to provide an overview of some of the topics and theories that are central to psycholinguistic research and cover the experimental techniques (such as sentence completion, reaction time, and eye-movement measurements) used in the field. A further aim is to understand the basic statistical analyzes that are carried out on data gathered from psycholinguistic research. Building on this, research findings and models from selected areas of psycholinguistics, in both first/second language research, especially word and sentence processing, will be dealt with. Part of the requirement for this course is to design, run, and present a small (psycholinguistic) online-experiment.
