In this course, we will deal with research methods used in modern linguistics such as in formal grammar, psycholinguistics, and/or sociolinguistics. We will discuss issues on how to construct and support a linguistic analysis, how to collect relevant data, as well as how to process, analyze, and interpret these data in relation to the theoretical hypotheses. The course is intended to prepare students methodologically for writing their BA thesis in linguistics, independently of the subject matter.
