Numerous factors such as migration, globalization, and the quest for equal rights have led to organizations and work groups being more heterogeneous today than in the past. In the seminar, we will look at both the challenges of diversity (e.g. resistance, discrimination) and its benefits (unique knowledge, deeper processing, creativity, opening up new markets). In addition, we will address how organizations and their members should deal with diversity (e.g., colorblindness vs. valuing diversity, purposeful group composition, diversity training). |
